東京から一番近い棚田の里を紹介します。
千枚田（せんまいだ）というのは、田んぼ一枚の面積が狭く、枚数が多い棚田のことで、実際１０００枚の棚田がここに存在するわけでもありません。３７５枚あるそうです。
千葉県の鴨川に存在する、貴重な棚田で、棚田の保存会が立ち上げた棚田倶楽部があり、棚田を個人に貸して棚田での農業を体験できる場所になっています。
ちょうどこの時期は初夏で、ビロードのような稲が一面に張ってあり緑の美しい時期でした。（２００８年７月６日）

These rice terraces are nearest from Tokyo among all of the rice terraces in Japan. “Senmaida” is meaning, “one thousand rise terraces”, but there are really not one thousand ones. There are 375 rice terraces that located in Kamogawa, Chiba pref. , where it takes about 1.5 hours from Tokyo by a car.
There is a “Rice terrace club” which is composed of members interested in agriculture. These rice terraces are rented for these members. These greenish rice terraces are seen in early summer (July. 6th.2008).
